Video of Phase II Mt Rainier Plan

During our pre-construction meeting we were given a homeowners guide to construction from Adair Homes. The handbook has helpful tips for the construction process. With construction nothing goes exactly as planned, but the handbook is a good overview of what to expect and things you can do to make things go smoothly.

The construction portion is divided into two phases. Phase I starts with the lot ready meeting and ends with the pre-drywall meeting. Phase II starts with insulation and ends with the final walk-through meeting.

I tried to follow the handbook, but during construction the timing of events happen at different times. Sometimes everything was happening at once, like HVAC, plumbing and electrical all working at one time. The best thing is to keep in constant communication with the site-superintendent to know when the home-owner to-dos are coming up.

In the handbook it specifies times for clean up, but just expect to do a little clean up often and not save it all for the times that are outlined.  Throughout construction of our house we ended up doing five dump runs, but it will depend on the size of the house and size of trailer/container/truck you use to haul away the construction debris.

The video above shows some of what happens during phase II of construction for Adair Homes. Hope you enjoy!
