Making a Warranty Claim with Adair Homes

We have our first warranty issue. We have been in our house for about three months now and most things have been working properly. The first issue that has come up is that  the door from the mudroom has fallen off.

It’s a little surprising that the hinges would come out this soon, as I haven’t ever seen that before in other houses. It might have been the way that it was installed? It had come out once before and I was able to screw it back in. Now the hinges aren’t staying up.

I contacted our site superintendent and was told to make a warranty claim about it. I went online and filled out the form and was promptly sent an email that the warranty request was made and I’d be hearing back from the construction team within two days.

It seems weird that the hinges would come out like that, but hopefully it is an easy repair that gets done quickly. We will keep you all posted on how it turns out.

On to other news…the landscaping is starting to shape up. We moved more dirt around this week, taking some dirt from the front to fill in some of the low points in the back. The landscaper will be back to flag the irrigation heads and we’ll meet with him to discuss where exactly the grass will go and paint lines for planters next week.

I have had a tile failure on an $11,000 bathroom-shower add-on. It is 3 plus years old, but only used 120 times. I’ve found Adair’s warranty process adversarial. I’m looking for advice

That’s a bummer. did they do the add-on? or was that after construction of the rest of the house?
